Overview
The goal of this project was to design an interactive digital display for an in-store kiosk at a popular clothing store. The kiosk would serve as a digital catalog for customers, allowing them to browse through the store’s offerings, view product details, check sizes, and find availability, all while enhancing their in-store shopping experience.
The Problem
The store sought to improve customer interaction with a solution that was intuitive, engaging, and informative, while also incorporating store-associate functionality and third-party integrations. The challenge was to design a user-friendly interface that provided a seamless, visually appealing experience, all within the constraints of the store’s limited space. Another key challenge was to design a user experience for a large screen, which presented distinct accessibility considerations.
THE PROCESS
• Conducted brainstorming sessions with key stakeholders to gather requirements and establish expectations.
• Designed wireframes and prototypes that aligned seamlessly with existing branding and interfaces.
• Prioritized considerations and optimizations for a large screen experience, with a focus on addressing accessibility challenges.
• Collaborated with developers to ensure seamless design implementation and provided ongoing support for feature additions.
• Quickly delivered functional prototypes and complete designs, receiving high praise and positive feedback.
The Outcome
The interactive digital display for the clothing store not only modernized the shopping experience but also enhanced customer engagement through an intuitive and visually appealing interface. Enabling store associates to collaborate effectively with customers, creating a delightful and personalized wardrobe experience.
By prioritizing user experience, simplicity, and brand alignment, the project addressed both associate and customer pain points, improving the in-store browsing experience and strengthening the customer-associate relationship. It also streamlined workflows for associates, making it easier to assist customers and drive up-sell opportunities.
